Makes 24 pieces
Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry
1 cup sugar (or vanilla sugar)
1/ 8 teaspoon salt
Mix the sugar and salt together. Sprinkle half of it on a work surface. Lay the puff pastry sheet on it. Sprinkle the other half over it and roll with a rolling pin to press the sugar into the dough. Fold the dough in from the sides twice to meet in the center then fold it over itself. Cut off ¼ inch slices. Lay them on a parchment lined sheet pan, alternating the direction they face to allow room for expansion and bake at 425 degrees for 8 minutes then flip them over and bake another 4 – 8 minutes for a total of 12-16 minutes till golden brown and caramelized.
