1 sheet puff pastry
5 ½ ounces (2cups) grated gruyere
1 ½ pounds asparagus
1 table olive oil
Salt and pepper
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. On a floured surface roll out the puff pastry to a 16 X 10 inch rectangle. Place on a parchment lines sheet pan. Trim the edges to even them out. Lightly scored the pastry 1 inch in the edge to make a frame around the edge. Score/dock the middle of the dough. Bake for 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the cheese. Trim the bottoms f the asparagus to fit across the tart. Lay them in a single layer alternating the tips and ends. Brush with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake another 20-30 minutes till the pastry is golden brown.
